India held their nerve to claim a 29-run win over Pakistan and progress to Saturday's World Cup final against Sri Lanka.
Whether India would be able to defend their 260 for nine was uncertain, after Sachin Tendulkar (85) had rode his luck against Wahab Riaz (five for 46) and the other Pakistan bowlers.
But in a cauldron-like atmosphere created by a capacity crowd and despite a late rally from Misbah-ul-Haq, the tournament co-hosts edged out their arch-rivals, bowling them out for 231.
